Based on his half and reported workouts, he's probably right on the cusp. I would guess somewhere around 2:12 fit. With the standard what it is, however, there's no way he's running 2:12. I'm sure Watson will go out aggressively and either get the standard or flop huge with a DNF or something high like 2:19ish. Can't see him narrowly missing it. I wouldn't bet on him running the 2:11, but it's not an impossibility either. I give him a 1/4 chance and really hope he gets it. |

I really hope he does, but am afraid it's not quite on the cards. If unsuccessful, hopefully he sticks with it and maybe we'll see him in Rio. I see on twitter Wykes is a go. He on the other hand I'd give a better than 50% chance if this rumoured wind isn't too bad. |

I predict he goes in, gives it his best shot and, succeed or fail, walks away with no shame. |

Really hoping for a good race, but don't see it unfortunately. A PB of 2:14-15 with the usual collapse at the finish, knowing he gave it his all. Wykes has a better shot in my opinion. A solid race, he will cut it close with 2:11-12. |

what will happen if both wykes and watson fail to meet the standard are they going to try to run the 10k or in watsons case the steeplechase? |

Well Wykes hit it and Watson didn't. I can't imagine Watson running more steeplechase. The difference in the two events is strong enough that I don't think he could expect to make any serious run at the steeple after this marathon build. |

Went after it and came up short 2:13.35 being 64:40 at half but still a 3 minute pr. He was on pace through 35km then it hurt really bad. Dylan running 2:10.47 was exciting and hopefully in the next year or so we see a sub 2:10 marathon by a Canadian. |

Obviously Dylan is happy, but I hope Rob is still happy with his progress. Yes, Rio is definitely realistic. I can see all 4 Canadians 2:10 or under by 2016. |
