I'm in desperate need for a scholarship to pay for college and I'm really hoping I can find a JC or CC that will offer me money for track. My times aren't great but hopefully it can get me some sort of money. Anyways, what are the best MD programs for any of those schools? Can a 52.5/2:01 get me a substantial amount/possibly a full ride anywhere in that league?

you can walk on at a D3 with those. If you have to ask if you can get a scholarship the answer is no, you're too slow.

Take off one year and train with a good coach. Then you can look, for a nice college in 2014.

I'm disgusted by the responses you've been getting.

I would suggest trying to walk-on a D3 or NAIA school. They can definitely work with a 2 minute guy in hopes of getting you down a couple seconds (Which IS competitive at that level).

i agree only a-holes have been posting on this thread. 2:00 and 51 can get some $ at some JC/CC's in kansas(where i live) they continualy take guys like that and coach em to 1:56ish or 48ish and send em to a D2 or even D1 sometimes. Pending on where you are from i would say try for these colleges- Cowley CCC Hutch CCC Neosho CCC or Butler CCC

You can walk on with those times, but don't ever expect scholarship money. Not saying you won't improve to get scholarship money, but it's not likely. If you NEED assistance to attend college, there are many types of financial aid that can help you. If your parents are being cheap, tell them to pay up.

2:00 can walk on at a lot of low level DIs, but won't get you much money at any level.

Best bet is to look at "bad" programs, any level, that have difficulty recruiting. And need to fill a roster. Look for teams that only have 4-5 cross country runners.

As for JUCO's, most are state supported and relatively cheap for in-state people. Look at the local one, you can likely pay for a year with just a good summer FT job.
