Why would he move up? He could win states in the 800 this year if he drops a second or two!

Salvaging? What makes you think that a guy who has been training to run 800s and 1500s and cant break 1:54 has a snowball's chance to run a decent 5000?

Because he has run 13:10 and 27:34 off 800/1500m training in the past, and he doesn't appear to have the pop he used to have back then. So maybe it's time to see what he can really do at those distances, right now, while he still has a few months to qualify.

I didn't think they had qualifying times for the 4th of July 5k/10k we run by the lake. But I think he has a decent shot at making the field if he keeps up the current training he's been doing.

But that is the old Webb and I agree that the old Webb should have moved up. This is a totally different Webb though, I don't think any of us understand what is going on.
