Looks like the leaders went through 400m in around 53 seconds. At 50 seconds they are around the curve entering the back straight. Wonder where they started.

Thanks for the video Toro.

Did you watch the video? Have you ever run a 1500m? The leader went through 300m in 41 seconds, then the video shows the leaders leaving the curve, entering the back straight, when the video cuts off at 50 seconds. Look at the clock on the screen. You can't see the 1500m start line, but it must be close if they are entering the back straight.

Go to the 30 second mark on the video. Look at the clock on the screen. Where are they on the track when the video switches? The clock reads 52 seconds and they are almost all the way around the curve entering the back straight. What time do you think they hit the first lap in based on that evidence?

The leaders get to the javelin run-up break in the track at 50 seconds, according to the on-screen clock. If it is the same track, someone could measure the distance from there to the 1500m start and figure out the legitimacy of that first lap.

I don't get how anyone can possibly watch this video and think this record is legit. It is SO over the top ridiculous that it isn't even debatable. That track is short, period.

Little women shuffling around a track and casually coming through 300 in 41... right.

It also looks like the entire broke 4 minutes, something not one single woman worldwide achieved in 2011!

The leader clearly went through in 300m in 41 seconds, which is 54 second 400m pace. The OP is not far off.

Here's a video of Steve Cram breaking the world record for 1500m going through the first 300m in 41 seconds.

There is no way in hell that that track is legit. An entire 1500m field cruising through the first 300m in 41-42 seconds only ever happens in world class MEN'S events. That Cram video put 41 seconds for the first 300m into its proper perspective. Cram blasted off the line, elbowed Cruz out of his way, and ran aggressively to run the first 300m of his 3:29 1500m in 41 seconds. The IAAF needs to investigate using video evidence of that Chinese 1500m race.

So they lengthened the track for the men's events?
Check the meet results...the men did not do anything spectacular.

Take the 300 to be 42 seconds. Last 1200 in about 3:08-3:09, or roughly 4:12-13/mile pace. I think the video supports the idea of having started the 1500 in the wrong place more strongly than a "short track".

The only place I've ever seen results for this meet is Track & Field News. The few men's results that were printed showed them running competitive races by world standards, something they never did otherwise.

They ripped the track out after this meet.

leaders went through in 57 (sub-42 300), as they were slowing down!! Still really fast - splits were 57,63.5,64.5,45+. Going trough 800m in under 2.01 is ridiculous, unless you can run 8.06 as well.
Definitely suspicious, but not necessarily a short track. Hasn't this been discussed ad nauseaum for the past 18+ years.

...and Aouita, the Olympic champion, split approximate 42...

Yes, that makes perfect sense...

I mean Aouita had this very restricted stride... Like the little Chinese girls....

These Chinese and Eastern European women's records are all a joke. Get rid of them all.

Either they were doped to the gills or running short.

There is no way that that first lap was in 57 seconds. At 52 seconds, when the video cuts out, they were almost to the back straight. The Chinese must have realized that an opening split of 54 seconds would have aroused suspicion and changed it to 57 seconds. There is no appearance of slowing down after the 41 second 300m split. More proof of cheating.
