Yay or Nay?
Asics Blur 33 Cushioning 4/2/2012 5:41PM Reply | Return to Index | Report Post
The Asics Blur 33 looks like something I might like, but I've heard by some that it is too soft. I'm not looking for a racing flat kind of firmness, but I don't want something too cushy either. Looking more for like a performance trainer type of cushioning.

Experiences?

I switched from the 2100 series (14 plus years of using them) and love the Blurs. I do alot of trail running and find that they are free and not super cushy. But there not a racer either. Test em out. I think you will like em

I had them last year and they do have alot of cushoning, since im a 400-800 guy i did lots of track work and they were soo squishy, but on roads they arewonderful, so it depends on what you are gona use them for.

I'd probably be using them mostly for roads. Do you feel like they are firm enough that if you wanted to pick the pace up on the roads that they would be responsive enough?

I might get another shoe for tempo runs, but still, I sometimes like to run relatively fast on normal days if I'm feeling good.

Well to me they are too squishy to really pick it up, but im used to training in flats n spikes so that could be why. Since you are gonna be on the roads though i encourage the purchase of some, they did me well overall.

i too made the switch from the 2100s after 10+ years of loyalty. i really like the blurs. i haven't had them on a track or off road, but they feel great on pavement. perfect amount of cushioning and sensitivity. for $80, you don't really have much too loose to give them a try.
heres the deal yo

honestly, the blur is one of the worst shoes asics has ever made.

heavy, clunky, too soft and squishy inside, with a sole that is incredibly stiff. not smooth at all to run. same deal with the asics gel neo33. asics entire 33 line sucks and is an embarassment to the running shoe market. they went all-Nike on us and made shoes that looked cool but sucked to run in.

sorry if you disagree, im not trying to offend anyone, im just being honest.
