I'm thinking of having my back, upper triceps, and shoulders waxed. I'm not a fan of manscaping, but when you have 2 inch back hairs flapping in the breeze, something must be done. Has anyone here had this done? Any advice? They say not to drink alcohol before, but I'd really like to be drunk so I don't notice the pain so much. |

I think the alcohol thing is just because having alcohol in your system...or that's what I've heard. No idea if it's actually true. But, if this is the case, and you don't mind bleeding a little more, then go for it! Pound a 6/12/18/24 pack before depending on your tolerance. Judging by the hair length, I'm assuming you are a manly mountain man with testosterone flowing out of your pores, so I'd recommend downing a 24 pack. Report back. |

i've been considering this for about a year now too. i'm 26. i was cool with my chest hair, but then all the sudden abuot a year and half ago my back hair started coming in. my girlfriend is cool with it, but i'd like to have it smooth again sometime. wondering how much it costs... |

It is really not that bad. Be warned, you may have an outbreak of bacne a couple days after, so don't do it right before your week on the beach. |

It's about $30-50 bucks now. If you want it to hurt less, trim it down to a half-inch or less length with a hedgeclippers (I mean razor) first, but don't shave it completely off so the wax has something to grip and yank out. It hurts, but only for a few seconds. Kind of feels good afterwards. And it's not as painful as getting kicked to the curb by that hot Scandinavian-Slavic model who hates hairy backs. Seriously, if you can handle a hard interval workout, you can handle getting your back waxed. It's not an awesome time or anything, but not that bad either. |

I looked at this again and realized I left out something which makes the entire message pretty nonsensical so I wrote when I meant to write. |

Ah yes, that does make more sense. If I had hair on my back, I would get rid of it, but only because I could get hotter girls without it. If you don't care about such things, then you don't need to bother. |

[/quote] This is true. Same with tattoos. Have you given thought to lasering? I have two friends who had it done. I had no clue they'd had it done; their backs were smooth when we ran shirtless. One was moderately hairy and the other was beastly (their words.) They both independently of the other said that it was a) painful b) took a lot of treatments and c) a little costly but they were happy with the results. |

Yeah. I've done research on the laser method. It costs a bit too much for me and the results are no always very good. I'm hoping for some technological breakthroughs that will make it more effective and cost less. |
