The Dodgers are privately owned and financed and are legally prevented by Los Angeles City law from using public funds. Manchester United is a socialist company owned by the state. The public owns the large soccer franchises in Europe similar to NFL teams in the U.S. which receive $billions in welfare handouts from state, county, and city taxpayers. |
