Jordan Hasay was a woman among girls in high school and one of the premier distance runners in college; however, she is nearing 22 years old and at a standstill. She has yet to run sub 4:10 for 1500m and sub 9 minutes for 3000m. At the time it seems she has nearly maxed out her potential at the shorter distances and should consider moving up to 5000m/10000m if she wants to pursue a post collegiate career. Hasay Jordan USA (born 1991) National Junior Championships: 2007 (1st, 1500m) NCAA Indoor Championships: 2011 (1st, Mile & 3000m) Personal Best - Outdoor One Mile 4:44.28 13/06/2009 3000 Metres 9:15.78 19/07/2010 5000 Metres 15:37.29 15/04/2011 Personal Best - Indoor One Mile 4:33.01 12/03/2011 3000 Metres 9:13.7 12/03/2011 |

Maxed out? What does that even mean? How does someone max out? All you have to do is find your limiting factors and improve them. |

You're retarded! Everyone has a max in any physical ability and if you took time to think before you typed you wouldn 't post such stupidity! Name a track and field athlete that continues to improve EVERY year for numerous years UNTIL they retirement? At some point every runner reach a point where a certain mark that will remain their personal best in an event and when that happens they move up in distance. Jordan Hasay appears to be nearing hers in the 1500m/3000m as she hasn't improved much in those events since high school! |

Bernard Lagat didn't even win an NCAA championship until his senior year. He was a 3:37 guy going into his senior year. Jordan Hasay could still get better, like Lagat. Or like her former teammate Matt Centrowitz. |

What is wrong with you. Chill. How do you know that everyone has a max in a physical ability? What determines this max? Define "numerous years". I will assume that means at least 3. I'd say that every runner that I know is faster after 3 years of training than they were after 1. Do you not see the same thing in your running friends? Perhaps Hasay just needs to improve her top end speed so she'll have more room to improve in the 1500/3000m. |
| A little logic |

Seemingly safe assumption: Nobody will ever run the mile in less than zero seconds. Conclusion: Everyone has a max physical ability which will limit them to performances above X seconds for the mile run where X is some number between zero and their current PR, inclusive. QED |

She's only at a 4-year running camp. Many options after university. My guess is she'll be back coached by Dr Sequiros and live in SLO or Frisco Bay Area. That's where the best runners are. |

Jordan Hasay's most American female white hop who will never win an Olympic or World 1500m or 5000m medal. Her 1500m personal best is still 4:10 at 21 and there are several European, Africans, and Orientals who would leave her in their dust. It's sad but it's time to realize that she hasn't improved much performance wise from age 17 to 21; however, her African counterparts of similiar age would run circles around her. |

the better way to look at Hassay is that she has always been near the top, at each level. jr high, high school and now college. She doesn't win a whole lot, but she is always right there. That is a pretty good indicator of where she'll be in 2016. Probably dicing for an olympic spot in the 5k or 10k. Not winning the trials, but close. |

Nearing 22 years old? Obviously math was not one of your better subjects in school. She has six more months and an entire outdoor season ahead before she turns 21. Plus, you don't even have her times right. You're definitely not good with numbers. |

Unless you listed PRs only achieved while at Oregon, her outdoor mile is 4:42.21. |

I take it Stupidity is your first name? Jordan Hasay was born September 1991; therefore, she's past 21 and 22 comes after 21 STUPID! Agip That's a very accurate assestment about her being near the top in high school and college but not winning more then she loses. Yes she could very well be make some Olympic and World teams without winning very many U.S Championships and no World and Olympic medals. |

2012 - 1991....let's see, carry the one... I love it when people call other people stupid when they themselves are apparently unable to subtract. Thanks, I needed that. |

Why don't you try getting her times right, and avoid selectively reporting the ones that only support your case. She broke the school record (again) in the 3000 this indoor season: 9:03.95 2/25/12 Also, her 1500 time is more relevant than the old outdoor mile time: 1,500 Meters - 4:10.28, Payton Jordan Cardinal Invitational, Stanford, Calif., 5/1/11 She is competitive within her age group, and with athletes older than her (Sheila Reid).

Okay let's give her some improvement and go with 4:10.01 for 1500m and 9:00.01 and she's still 21 and yet to break either barrier. Didn't Infield just run 4:08 and she don't get nearly the attention as Golden Girl Hasay. Hasay has to move up to the 10000m or she will be a also ran if she goes pro. Also didn't a 18 year Ethiopian just run under 4:03 two or three times indoors? Pull the blinders from your eyes and you too will see Jordan hasn't really improved much time wise since she was 16/17 and it's over four years later! She's 21 and there are several distance athletes who are world-class and will be competing at the Olympics at that age and haven't stalled as long as Jordan Hasay. |

While I truly like Emily and wish her the best, I'm only posting this to point out a few things to the argumentative "ByeByeBaby." He/she compared Jordan to Emily and concluded that Jordan is washed up. Here's a more thorough comparison: Jordan has attained times very close to Emily's at an age 1-2 years younger that Emily. I think Jordan still has time to progress. She's only a junior who is 20 years, 6 months old. In her interviews from this indoor season, she indicated that she's training through indoors and looking to put up some fast times this outdoor season in time-trial type races. I'll pull this thread back up and update her PRs as they roll in. Emily Infeld birthdate: March 21, 1990 PRs 2/11/12 9:00.13 3000m age 21 years, 11 months (almost 22) 6/26/11 4:08.96 USATF 1500 final age 21 years, 3 months 6/8/11 15:38.23 5000m age 21 years, 3 months 4/14/11 4:12.04 1500m age 21 years, 1 month 2/5/10 4:36.83 mile age 20 years, 11 months (almost 21) Jordan Hasay birthdate: September 21, 1991 PRs 2/25/12 9:03.95 3000m age 20 years, 5 months 5/1/11 4:10.28 1500m age 19 years, 8 months 4/15/11 15:37.29 5000m 19 years, 7 months 3/12/11 4:33.01 mile 19 years, 6 months Jordan Hasay High School PRs 2008 9:19.6 3000m age 16 years 2008 4:14.50 1500m age 16 years

JH will do fine at Mammoth, Flag, Dago, or Tucson where the best elite training partners and coaches are today. She's only in college now for Christsakes. Look how well Ryan Hall, Sara Bei, Deena Drossin, Desi Davila, Abdi, and other Los Angeles kids have done. |
