I'm slowly trying to cut dairy out, and if I want to have occasional milk I'm planning to drink coconut or almond milk. Which one tastes better? I know almond milk is pretty slow in calories and the store has vanilla and plain almond milk on sale. Which one is better (to use in oatmeal, cereal, etc.)? |

I am all about the Almond Breeze. I am not a fan of the vanilla bc I just don't like the feeling like I'm drinking sugar or something. I drink the original, either the regular or the unsweetened, depending on whatever is at the market. I use it for everything including cereal, coffee, oatmeal, etc. It's only about 40 calories per serving, plus you get the healthy fats, a bit of protein, and a good dose of calcium and iron. Once I started drinking AB, drinking any kind of animal milk never crossed my mind again. There was no point to it. I will also say that Rice Dream milk is THE BOMB, however I rarely drink it just bc I don't necessarily want the carbs that come with it. |

vanilla is the way to go. it's like a treat every time you drink it. unsweetened is just not very tasty. though i have a pretty big sweet tooth and can't get enough sweets. for a good post-run reward go for silk pure almond dark chocolate. delicious in pancakes and coffee too. |

+1 on the Silk Chocolate milk. So, I used to buy Almond Breeze, but now make my own almond milk. While it's good to move away from dairy, it would be another good step to move toward making your own almond milk. The less ingredients in something, the better. Making you own is super easy and just as cheap. Also, I find it much better than the store bought almond milks. |

Always go vanilla! Before 1973 we never had chocolate anything in my religion. |

I meant to say vanilla is very good but NOW chocolate is my favorite. |
| Plain on Cereal. |

Vanilla? On cereal? You guys are crazy. Plain in the only way to go, the vanilla is way too sugary, over powers the taste of the cereal. Unsweetened is a little to bitter and also affects the taste. Plain all the way |

If you're looking to get a little bit of protein in, almond breeze hardly has any protein in it. Maybe 1 or 2 grams per serving. Soy milk has more protein. Unsweteened almond breeze is good though if you want to limit your calories to 40-60 cal per serving. |

I get Vanilla Soy Milk, it's delicious. The Almond milk is good too, but I think it barely has any protein in there so you should make sure to get it some other way. Rice milk is good but has the same protein problem I believe. Coconut milk has not yet convinced me that the saturated fat content isn't a problem so I usually don't have that...even if it isn't a problem it's probably not a benefit so I prefer the other types. I rarely ever go near real milk anymore. |

How do you make your own almond milk? I would be very interested to know bc if I can simplify ingredients, I'm all for it. Is there a link with detailed info you used? I'm known to screw up recipes.... |
