Only three Oregon men make the NCAA indoor meet?n one a January transfer? 3/5/2012 10:32PM Reply | Return to Index | Report Post
One in the 400m, one in 3k and one in 5k. No relays or field events.

After not making NCAA cross last fall, is this the new weak Duck Soup?

If Stanford had run Elliot Health in a 5k they would have more guys in that one event than the entire Oregon Team.

How can the coaches be satisfied with these two seasons back to back?

Puskedra, Greer, Mack, are they all hurt?

Exactly! So why is he not qualified for NCAA indoors? Did the coaches get him in great shape just to red shirt him?
Or does he join the long list of injured?

Puskedra is like 6 foot 5" and is one of the worst Indoor Runners I have ever seen. He ends up in Lane 3 the entire race, he literally ran a 5250meter 5000 last year....

Having said that he appears to have a long career ahead of himself in the half and marathon.

Isn't Lananna leaving Oregon after this year to take over USATF?

It's because it's indoor. Indoor sucks. And West Coast schools (rightly) never gave more than half a sht about indoor.

So if the Oregon women win Indoor Nationals it will not be a big deal?

Olympic Trials year. Greer, Puskedra, Fleet as well as some of their field eventers are not focusing at all on indoors since their season will be extended with a planned peak at the trials.

Hopefully, the USOC will decertify USATF if that happens.

Coach d, the biggest Pri#k on this board. Why does this guy bother, since he has shown his ignorance too many times to remember? Dissing on Lananna shows incredible ignorance. How many other coaches have had the history of success that Lananna has? Maybe John Macdonald and Bill Bowerman, but not many others. What has coach d done, but prove himself consistently wrong.

Oh yeah because I forgot that they all have a good shot at making the Olympic team. NOT!! If fleet is training for the trials thats a joke, a 3:58 miler who has never run sub 3:40 or been an outdoor all-american? Wow, maybe i should rethink my running career. I hope to God that our Olympic team is good enough that these guys dont make it. Puskedra is the only one with a shot, albeit a long one, i do think however he'll be a hell of a force to be reckoned with in 2016

Think before you write. Did anyone give Centro a chance to take 3rd at Worlds or even 1st at outdoor NC's at this time last year when he wasn't even close to winning an indoor NCAA title? Or what about when Wheating made the Olympic team after his soph year at UO? He probably wasn't even on much of a scholarship at that point! Extreme, extreme underdog to make the team. To suggest Puskedra, Fleet or Greer should just be resigned to the fact that they aren't going to make the team and just throw in the towel is absurd. That means the vast majority of Trials qualifiers should just chuck it.
He's got the A standard

Umm, no need quite to frame it as a "anything can happen" pep talk, at least for Greer. He already has the Olympic A standard. Not the lesser USOT Trials A standard, but the Olympic A standard. He is already in the mix.
