Many of the real athletes competing indoors are not planning to compete in worlds: Simpson, Uceny, Felix, Harper, Rowbury.... Manzano probably plans to train, as Lemaitre does in France.

You apparently cannot read with comprehension. Go back to school because you have not learned how to think. Nothing in the post you quoted asserted that Bernard Lagat was not a real athlete.
This is just silly. They can't take a weekend of representing their country (not to mention sponsor) by competing in March because it will what? Interfere with their racing in August?
Maybe when Bernie medals indoors and out this year, they'll realize they ought to reevaluate.
