I was talking about the Sydney classic. Torrence's run was about 4 hours before this Birmingham race. Link: http://www.iaaf.org/Mini/IWC12/News/NewsDetail.aspx?id=63624 |

A great early result for David; if you can run 3:35 in Feb, one would assume you can run 3:32 in June, but it never works out that way for him. I wish this is the year David puts it all together, but up to now he has only been hitting homeruns in the first ending with no one on base. |

David Torrence? Is this guy even a pro?? |

He did not get the A-standard. He sat too far back as usual. He will now continue to complain how little opportunity he gets to get the A-standard and won't make the Olympic team because he doesn't have the mark. Case closed. |

Great start of the season for him. I will be rooting for him to be making the Olympic Team. I have been a fan of his ever since he posted his video of running a sub 4 mile downhill to win a bet. |

He runs best in the spring? What year are you thinking of? He has always struck me as a consistent over-achiever. Not much to criticize -- unless you think everyone should be a medalist. |

He may have run 3:26, but that was years ago. Lagat understands he can no longer beat the best in the world at 1500m, as far as a gold medal goes. No shame in admitting that. Hence why he is focusing on 5k. 3:36 is a great time for a 5k guy indoors when the indoor record is 3:31. |

How about the rare occasions when the indoor record is 3:29? |
