The race is on live (embedded on the homepage)- also here: http://www.rakmarathon.org/live/ The start was classic ONe of the best one's I've ever seen. The elites were bunched between a gate and there was no gun. They just counted down 5-4-3-2-1 but since there was no gun, the elites didn't know what to do. They stood there and didn't start until about 6-7 seconds were on the clock. Let's hope they subtract that time at the end. |

The announcer said the pace was as follows: 1km 2:51 for men 5:49 for 2km. On my watch, I saw 8:32 for 3k - now I think i started my watch when they actually started running, not when the race technically started Women 6:22 for 2km (67 min pace). |

Anyone get the 10k split? Maybe my idea of splitting it off of a U-stream feed is a bad idea as I had 28:40 which is 60;28 pace and much slower than the other splits. |

What a great feed. The coverage of the race is excellent, and I'm really enjoying the music being played in between bouts of commentary. |

The official 10k split for the men was 28:45 according to the announcers. Meaning my watch is more accurate as they must be adding on the 5-seconds when they stood there. One nike guy Lilesa - and 5 adidas guys. Lilesa to the front. |

Wasn't Keitany supposedly only going for 67-ish? I was under the impression that she wasn't anywhere near peak fitness right now. |
