This is why Galen Rupp bothers me, although maybe Salazar talks him into this stuff. He has ZERO chance at running 8:10 and it is obvious to the intelligent. He will be fortunate to run 8:15 if everything falls into place. He has absolutely no chance at running faster than 8:15. I will NEVER post here again if Rupp runs faster than 8:15 this weekend. |

I think this was just kinda assumed by the rest of the LRC community. You were the only one dumb enough to actually make a post about it, as if you were informing us of something. Thanks for wasting 30 seconds of my life. |

NO, moron, you are wrong. There are plenty of your fellow morons who disagree with you and think Rupp has a chance. I can guarantee you that Ventolin is one of them. |

I hope he run under 8:15 then |

OTC people who may read this: is there anything that the LRC community can do to help Galen Rupp run under 8:15? |

Instantly I am a huge Rupp fan. |

How would you know? Anyway, what do you want an athlete or coach to say? An NFL coach would get blasted if he walked into a preseason press conference and said "we're looking to finish right in the middle of our division this year. After assessing the team throughout training camp, I think that this is a realistic goal." You pretty much assume that every football team starts out the season with the goal of winning the Superbowl even though some teams don't really have a realistic shot. Similarly, a track athlete should show some optimism. It's better to put yourself out there and go after lofty goals. Sure, you can just be conservative about your goals and then you pretty much guarantee success, but if that's you're way of thinking, you probably wouldn't make it to the elite level to begin with. |

Didn't Jesse also say he'd stop posting if Rupp broke 27:00 in the 10k? |

Not really sure what kind of shape Rupp is (or should be) in this time of year, but Ritz ran 8:11 with more modest speed, so I'm not sure 8:10 is out of the realm of possibility. |

I'm pretty sure Rupps got a legit shot at breaking 8:15. Based off his 5k time an 8:15 is well within his reach. |

stuck, you just said something halfway positive about Rupp! Are you okay? |

stuck, you just said something halfway positive about Rupp! Are you okay?[/quote] I'm fine thank you! I have realized that most of my comments about the AR 10k holder have been off based. I'll still be critical of him when warranted but for the most part I'll try to keep it positive. 8:15 is no stretch at all its not like he said 7:59 or 8:01. |

One thing I can absolutely guarantee, Jesse, is that Lagat's 2 mile AR will not be broken this weekend by Solinskrap. Go Rupp!!! |

8:10 is approximately equivalent to Rupp's 5k indoor AR, so it seems like the time is within his capability given the right race. I'd like his odds better if there were a few faster guys in the race to drag him along once the pacemaker drops. With the set up he's got I'd bet against an AR. |
| eh. |

If he did, cant someone find that thread? Please! |

Rather than break Lagat's record, I'd rather just see the two of them race this weekend instead. Let them try to set a record against each other and settle it that way. |

It takes less than 1 second to read the poster's name. If you wasted more than 1 second of your life then you have only yourself to blame. |
