Has Ryan Hall mentioned anything about running Boston this year? |

My guess is no. He just ran the OTs and will probably focus the next 6 months on the Olympics.... That goes for Abdi, Meb, Kara, Shalane, and Desi as well... Also, any marathoner who my have a shot at T&F Olympic trials will most likely not run a spring marathon because they will focus on track This years Boston will be a "down" year with respect to Elite American runners.... However, expect fast Kenyans to still show up |

I am going to say no, but honestly wouldn't be shocked. He IS trained by god afterall. |

He would be stupid. Because he would run 2:09 tops, unless there is another hurricane. And that would put a serious damper on his "I am a 2:04 guy" claims. |

Of course they're going to show up because they want the prize money. people that take it off don't need the money. |

he cited a major problem with 2008 was that he did too many marathons in too short a period. if he runs boston, that would be 4 races in less than a year yes. im aware bill rodgers did at least that many |

Hall was asked this on Competitor radio, and said no. His next marathon will be the Olympics. http://running.competitor.com/2012/01/features/competitor-radio-ryan-hall-reflects-on-his-olympic-marathon-trials-performance_45649 Interesting interview and the most in-depth post-trials interview of him I've seen. |

He should run the trials for 5000m or 10000m |

That would be dumb. Why would he want to interrupt marathon training to try to qualify for and run the trials when he would never run those events at the Olympics? I agree he should run some shorter races before the Olympics when they fit into his training, but Olympic trials aren't something to be run casually just to sharpen up. |

Easy, because he wouldn't have to interrupt his M training. Hall is a 2:04 guy. According to McMillan running calculator that's worth 12:43/26:25. So even if he doesn't taper for it for which in this calculation I would add 10/20 seconds, which makes 12:53/26:45, he would still EASILY qualify for the Olympics. In other words, he could train right through it and be qualified for 5/10/M triple. Of course he wouldn't race all three at the Olympics, but qualifying for all three should be no problem. |

He learned his lesson the last Olympics. The last time he trained hard and pushed to win in a hilly OT marathon then came back and ran a tough London marathon. After that his momentum was shot and his legs were tired and he suffered through a disappointing Olympic appearance. This time he trained just enough to qualifying for the Olympics without overloading himself. Then he will not run again until the Olympics, using this time to build upon his base he established for the trials and come into the Olympics ready to roll. I don't expect a medal at the Olympics for Hall but I wouldn't be surprised if he did. I definitely expect him to do much better than last time. I say top 5 or 6 |

The Olympians should take advantage of every race willing to shell out appearance fees. Go do the uncompetitive rock and roll half marathons races, get announced as an Olympian, win by a big margin. Repeat. |

Anyone know if he was wearing the hyperspeeds or piranha at the trials? http://blog.chron.com/sportsupdate/2012/01/photos-2012-olympic-marathon-trials-in-houston/#2490-5 |

paula shouldn't run the olympics because there won't be male pacesetters and that will put a serious damper on her "i am a 2:15 girl" claims. come on |
