My apologies.

Dude, we pay the kid $10 an hour. Can't expect much at that slave wage.

Tadese┤s 5km time is slower than Ritz┤ right?

The men are on their final loop going up the one hill on the course an overpass for the last time. It is a test and Ritz has fallen further back.

Abdi leading.

Mile 19 4:56

Decent amount of people on the course from what I can tell.

Ritz is better off in the 10000m anyways with this 12:56 speed.

I don't understand why he think's he's a marathoner. He's run enough races by now to have sufficient data to show that he just doesn't have the gas tank/fuel system for the marathon.

His 12:56 and 60:00 (in the rain) clearly indicate sub-27:00 potential.

Abdi and Ryan Hall just collided but are ok and both stuck out their arms to acknowledge it is ok between them.

Men on 2:07:30 pace at 30k 1:30:45.

Ritz appears to be 7 seconds back. of the lead 3. Hall, Abdi and Meb still lead with Ritz 7 back.

On women's race we're down to Desi, Goucher, Flanagan, and Hastings has caught back up. Deena has dropped back now.

People need to realize how epic this is. There is still a long way to blow up but if Ritz can stay under 2;08:47 pace, he'll become the 5th fastest American in history and the 2nd fastest American born runner in history as he'll lose to the 3 guys ahead of him plus Khannouchi.

He'll also be the fastest american runner in history not born at altitude.

Altitude matters.

1:13:30 halfway for women lead pack of 4 Shalane, Kara, Amy and Desi

Mile 20 was 5:00. That is the slowest in the race but had the final uphill of the course so not a huge surprise.

Ritz is drifting farther back.

10th in the olympics wasn't enough to convince you he can run a fast marathon? it sure seems to have been sufficient for him and i highly he doubts what you think.

Because Ritz doesn't have the 400m speed to kick in 5k/10k championship races. He's a great time trialer at those races, but if he wants to win something he's best off working at the marathon until he gets it right. Unfortunately he might have to settle for the former this time around.

Ritz no longer on the screen. ABdi looked back to see what was behind him. One of the top 3 could blow up but unless they do it looks like your team

Why do all you idiots think every runner that doesn't WIN the race is just "time trialing" it? That's just stupid.

He'll need to finish and not slow down too much. The leaders just ran 5 flat for mile 20 and Ritz lost ground. He may yet break 2:10, but it's not in the bag, by any means, especially given his lack of mileage.
