Taken from 5/11. Anyone know when Goucher and Torres are racing next? Are both aiming for the 5K at the Trials?

Goucher needs to lay off of the weights, he is too big. If he is unable to run high mileage then he needs to spend some time in the pool; on the bike and on the elliptical machine. From his latest 1500m race we can gather that he has no speed and looking at his size it is obious that he has not been putting in the miles. Look for Mr. Goucher to be a non issue in 2004. I will also wager that Mr. Goucher will hang up his spikes by 2005.

Culpepper looks emaciated even for a runner. Somebody feed that guy!

Put Culpepper in a body type lineup of Kenyans and Ethiopians and aside from skin color you would find it difficult to tell them apart. The same cannot be said for Mr. Goucher. Culp, Torres and Ritz are all where they need to be, Goucher, if he wants to be "good" again needs to shed about 15 lbs of mass.

Based on his recent 1500m time perhaps Mr. Goucher could pace Cragg through 1600m of a 5000?
best i can tell

Goucher is entered in the US Open 1500 and 3 weeks later has the Prefontaine 5000 I would guess? Torres is entered in the Oregon Track Classic 3k. Ritz is still in the NCAA Regionals/ NCAA format. I have to guess that Slattery is going to be going to Europe for a fast steeple or two? I still feel he'll run 8:10 this summer after winning the Olympic Trials over Lincoln and Famaletti.

What do you guys think of Alan Culpeppah's upper-body?

I'll take you up on that bet. There's no way a guy who's run 13:11 will retire at age 30. how much do you want to bet?
YES

You are a complete ass. Bannister was 5' 11" and 150 lbs. He's fine.

Bannister was not running 3:55 for 1500m

Goucher has a lot of work to do.

How much longer do you think that Goucher can make a living off of that 13:11?

Remember that sales guy, he was a great producer in 2000, he led the company in sales that year, who hasn't done jack since. Fila arrived at the same conclusion.

Goucher's always been bigger than the average, and obviously elite, runner - even in h.s. However, he's also had as big, if not a bigger, "sack" than most, if not all, of the U.S. runners!

I still am confident that he shouldn't be counted out come Oly Trials.

Dathan is looking more and more like a man. He doesn't look like a little boy that happened to drop a 13:44 anymore. He looks like the toughest bastard I've seen in a while.
