No talk about bolt absolutely CRUISING his heat in 10.10(-0.7) looking very, very good? 8/27/2011 9:30AM Reply | Return to Index | Report Post
He ran 10.10(fastest in all heats) looking incredibly relaxed and had a GREAT start. He was well away by 30m, looked very good. Not quite to his full form, but he started cruising 40m out and still did that well. By comparison, Nesta Carter only ran 10.26(albeit -1.2 headwind) but looked to be working moderately hard the whole way. IMO, Bolt is back guys! Sub- 9.7 prediction in Daegu final for sure if the winds cooperate(+1.0 or more Tailwind) if not, still low 9.7s. Bolts got this in the bag guys, trust me. Bolt is not mortal. He will win. Mark my words!!

Still wasn't sure he was going to get gold this year before the championships, but after I watched this race, I realized that Powell and Gay still never had a shot at beating him.

He won't run 9.58, but I don't think he's that far off of world record shape. I think he'll run around 9.65. No one else will go under 9.80 and will struggle to break 9.90.

His start was amazing. In all the DL meets his starts have absolutely sucked, but now it seems he's worked on that and gotten it out of the way. His start was by far the best in the field, it looked he was simply jogging after the first 40-50 meters. If he keeps this up and manages to pull off the same start, no one will challenge him in the final.

For as bad as people have talked about him on here this year you would think he had lost every god damn race he ran. He is undefeated! He is the GOAT. He will win both races and will do it in impressive fashion. It's not surprising at all and really shouldn't be but there will be idiots on here who act like it is.

They don't give medals for winning the first heat. They only give medals for the last one. The top guys only have to do it 3 times this year, "making a statement" in round 2 isn't wise.

Are you kidding? That 10.11 was beyond easy for him. That wasn't making a statement; that was a good start and an immediate shut down.

I remember a couple championships ago when Asafa did something like this, then didn't win, and Charlie Francis used the term "blew his wad in the prelims."

Just win, baby...while expending less energy than your main competitors. Keep in mind that the same things being said about Bolt could also be said about Lemaitre (10.14 and winning almost as easily). We'll know more in the semis, where I fear Lemaitre is going to have a pretty tough time.

I just watched the race. His start was great, even though you would think he would take it conservatively so he doesn't false start.

His first 50 meters were pretty amazing. He practically walked the the rest, it looked so easy.

I think he is on form for 9.70 or thereabouts, faster if the wind cooperates.

Lemaitre powered through the entire race to 90m before shutting it down a little.

Usain blew the doors off for 30m gave about 85% effort for the next 25m then shut it down completely.

That's far from blowing your wad, that's making everyone else sit up and take notice. Provided a lack of injuries or false starts he's a shoe-in to win this race and by daylight.

conspiracy theory:

Did you see him putting the collar of his shirt in his mouth before they announced him? I thought he was chewing off a tag or something, or that his chain got caught in it. BUT if he does that again in the next round, then that is where/when/how he is taking the neural activators with incredibly short half lives. They need to be taken very very shortly before needed and will be gone shortly thereafter.

The block behind his back foot moved out of place when he started. He might actually be able to get an even better start if that doesn't happen. I'm not sure I want to make a prediction on his times in the semi's and the final right now. He's just looking way too good.

Can you translate that for us in American English please? Thank you.
