So this race iscoming up, who is going? I've looked on the usatf website and havent seen an updated entry list. Its two weeks away and there was only a post of about Ritz and 5 other elites going. Any ideas?

Oh, can Ritz run under 60:00 in Houston?!?!

it will be a winning time of ~61 high/62, we won't see anyone go out like Hall and run for time while possibly ruining a payday

its Jan, these guys are far from being in peak shape, Championships should all be in a 2-3 month period (marathon excluded) during the summer

Only three Americans, Hall, Abdi, and Todd Williams have broken 60:30. Only two non-Africans, Santos and Hall, have broken 60:00. When Hall broke the American record, he peaked for that race. London was not in his plans at all. Ritz is peaking for London and not Houston. Anything under 61:00 would be excellent!

Anyone know what happened to Gildea after last year's 1:03? Seemed to be on a big roll and then nothing except 1/2 marathon worlds were he went for a jog.

Paul Giannobile? Is he the actor who was in Sideways and Cinderella Man? Guy didn't look like he could run that well.

Anything close to 62 even will win the race. Ryan Hall is the only American to break 62 in Houston. The course is fast, but not pancake flat and there is a u-turn at mi 9 where the half splits from the full (wasn't my idea). I think there will possibly be 4-5 under 63 this year. It is a very strong field for the men. I vote for AC or Fernando Cabada as a surprise winner, but would call Sell as the favorite. He seems to find a way to win every half he enters.

I think the Hanson's guys have the edge over the McMillan group based off of experience and the fact that they are a marathon group whereas McMillan's group is currently more track-centered. Overall the field is pretty stacked and it's going to be an awesome race.
