great from Wyner, who paced the 1500, at getting us some national attention.

maybe now we'll attract some good knowledgable posters.

remember, i found letsrun because somebody was wearing the singlet on a tv race.

Will this cause any problems for his eligibility? Know it all king99 said that he could have lost his last year of eligibility by wearing the shirt.

wyner wore a Letsrun.com singlet which means he can't compete in the NCAA anymore ...

Watch and learn..King99 never said anything like that.

I am sure the Johnson brothers knew/know exactly what the issue/non issue is with that.

I'm a dipshit because I didn't read a thread that doesn't mention Wyner in the title, but I DO respond to a Wyner thread? Yea, what a dipshit.
King99 mentioned this on the New Jersey Dyestat forum. (Which he has since edited) You didn't read that post you dipshit?http://www.talk.dyestat.com/showthread.php?t=85151&page=3

It doesn't affect his eligibility.

It's not like he was paid him to run in the singlet.

As someone said in the other thread
http://www.letsrun.com/forum/flat_read.php?thread=2492076
if it affected his eligibility it would mean you'd have to run without any logo what so ever on the jersey if you were racing in the summer or redshirting.

All those races Rupp ran in the Lance Armstrong Nike singlets in Europe would mean he's ineligible.

Perhaps if you want to say he's ineligible you should argue the opposite, not that he was a professional but that the singlets are so rare, it's an illegal benefit.

i thought there was (is?) some rule about the size of the logo. or is that a different rule that relates to the size of a logo on a team uniform?

may seem petty in running, but wouldn't it cause you to wonder a bit if a college basketball player exclusively wore a certain brand of clothing for a couple of years (ok, for one semester to insert a little reality into the hypothetical) and then as soon as he signed with an agent that same brand paid him money?

don't get me wrong, i'm all for the ncaa policing men's basketball differently than just about every other sport. my understanding though is that the same rules apply across the board.

Did Wyner qualify for the Olympic trials? I remember something about him taking the semester off (like Rupp is doing) to train for the trials 800(?).

If there is such a rule, wouldn't it likely only apply to what's worn in competition? And if so, wouldn't it then probably not apply to basketball at all? When does a basketball player get to pick his own uniform (and when do they compete outside of college athletics, period)?

There's a uniform rule that's in force for the Olympic Trials, and for IAAF meets, which I believe the adidas meet was supposed to be. Then again, I don't remember seeing anyone checking uniforms in Carson (or if there was one, they probably didn't care).

If Letsrun were using his photo to sell their singlets then there would be a problem whether he was paid or not.
