2 great runs. Derricks is suprerior - in absolute terms, and given that he ran it on his own. 2 mile at NON should be a barnburner. |

wow...Derrick is the real deal and then some. Can he give it a run for #2 all time in hs? I doubt he could take rupps record..but 1344 could be possible. very impressive (what looks to be a solo run). Was Smith with him for part of the race? |

Derrick supposedly ran the last 3200 in 8:49... with a 2:05 final 800/60 seconds last lap. |

13:55 is crazy. He would have gotten 3rd in the 3200 at the meet... We are uploading the video... stay tuned! http://www.runnerspace.com/ArcadiaInvite |

13:55 is a tremendous time, particularly winning by 40 seconds in a high school only race. give him college or pro-level competition later in the outdoor season and he'll be close to what lindgren and ritz ran in high school. 8:46 3200m=8:49+ 2M, which is excellent but not on the all-timer level of derrick's 5k. |

This 13:55 is absolutely amazing! Haven't seen the video yet, but looking at the results, I'd consider this a solo run. I wish all these kids well. Was Derrick pushed at all, for those of you who were there? |

Doug Smith stayed with him for the first few laps and then Derrick just pulled away. Lapped more than half the field too, it was an amazing race. |
