Ramzi is not looking so hot. It will be interesting to see if he can get into shape by the Olympics. Why was Mekonnen DQed? |
| Well |

Wow, really? I didn't see anything in the race that was DQ worthy... |

They showed a replay of the race and Mekonnen took one step off the track going round a bend and Willis took three steps off the track when going round the bend. It seems pretty unfair to disqualify Mekonnen when he was nost likely pushed and 1 foot off the track is hardly going to give you an advantage.... |

Nicholas Willis CAN DQ it should be right? not NZL? |

uhhhhh.... are you thinking of brannen? |

If they were trying to make a statement about his ability to DQ, yes, it should say "Nicholas Willis can DQ". The NZL is his nationality though, so it's correct. |

Mekonnen filed an appeal and was reinstated as the winner. http://www.iaaf.org/documents/pdf/3656/AT-1500-M-f--1--.RS1.pdf |

Willis trying to cheat again. Let me guess? He sat at the back of the pack, and tried to get towed around like usual. He will never be as good as Walker. Walker runs with balls. Willis runs like a sheep. Baaa |

I'm gonna guess that you didn't watch the race. |

Did you watch the race? I orginally posted he step off 4 different times. Last night I watched the replay. He was off the track at least 5 different times. Approximately at the 600m mark, 900m, 1150, 1200 and 1400. I was dumbfounded when the results came up and he was 5th. I thought it was as clear a dq as I've seen. It's the World indoor 1500m champs, not the World infield 1500m. |

Last year Ramzi almost took Gold offer little training and no races. He is now way ahead of last year. |

It needs to be at least 3 CONSECUTIVE steps in the same occurence not one. |

Which rule makes this statement about 3 consecutive steps? There is nothing in Rule 163 about that: http://iaaf.org/mm/Document/imported/42192.pdf |

Your correct. I went to my USATF Annual Officials Clinic yesterday and the USATF and IAFF require only one step for a DQ. However,he won the appeal maybe because he won and one step if he did it was decided not o be enough as he did not gain an advantage or imped anyone. |
