Make it 3 Lomong in American too, but I agree I'm glad in some respects that Josh said he ignores letsrun.com. This is a fine example, guy runs one of the best races he has ever run and we need to find something to bash him about. So lets take a shot at his faith. You guys are unbeleiveable |

Great race. A pleasure to watch. I may tend to root for people who share my beliefs about religion, but I still enjoy seeing great races by religious fanatics. You can hardly be a fan of the sport if you don't. At least he's not armed. |

I'm an atheist and I'm glad for McDougal. I may differ from him strongly in that area, but he's a talented guy who obviously workds his ass off. Good for him. I'm also an Eric Liddell fan, so (to the OP) quit making atheists out to be a bunch of shortsighted assholes. |

I agree. I don't care who this guy worships and how much I disagree with him...he ran a hell of a race and watching two native born Americans duke it out like that was impressive as all hell. Don't mean THAT in a derogatory way either (To be honest, I was pulling for Lomong to get it!)

I don't buy into McDougal's (or Rupp's, or Hall's) belief system at all. In fact I think it's ridiculous. But that was a great race today, and a great job by McDougal to gut out the win. I was on the edge of my seat the whole last 2K. Both Rupp and McDougal were very gracious towards each other in the interviews after the race. They are obviously both very nice young men. |

well i have to say it was a good race by all three top guys, i didnt think that Lomong would be able to hold out to the finish only because i figured Rupp and McDougal's strategy would have not let that happen....but these three guys could be the makeup of some of the best USA team for the olympics, Lomong 1500, Rupp with the 10k? McD with marathon? who knows could be some nice competition for other countries to start worrying about (Kenya) i must say though, i know Josh personally and many people that go and hate him because of his faith, say it without proper evidence. though he may be a great runner, in my book he is a man of good character and that is worth more than being great at running, after all you dont have running forever... |

some folks put their faith in what seems most solid in front of them. interesting that both site that faith as a reason they perform well. even it there is no God, which God only knows, the lifestyle they live can be conducive with good running results. more power to them. |
