Ritzenhein? Great runs by Rohatinsky and Goucher!!! Is Rohatinsky the darkest of horses in the Olympic Marathon Trials? I believe so.

63 flat doesn't translate to being a contender at the trials. half marathon does not compare to marathon. two worlds apart.

Is it just me or does it seem like Kara's slowly catching up to Adam?

Who ran 63-flat?

I'm more impressed that Radcliffe didn't break down in tears at the side of the road when Goucher stormed past and opened the gap... I guess childbirth has made Radcliffe mentally stronger.

At least she has run the marathon faster than you have.

Posts like this are so Brent Musbergeresque. You obviously have no knowledge of the sport of running, have never experience heat exhaustion, nor competed at anything remotely approximating "accomplished" (I'll even throw in your local 5k).

Go back to ESPN you douchebag.

Yea isn't that a bit of a bizarre choice? I was shocked when i saw he did both, especially after how the second half of his year went.
money making?

on mottram: he is constantly redlining with how he trains year around. dude needs to take a rest and get his marbles straight.

on rohatinsky: great run. 62:54 for 5th. i think that's his first half-marathon race. he probably won't place in the top 5 at the marathon trials, but this is a great start for him. i hope he goes far.

on adam goucher: good run too, considering he raced a 3000 yesterday in 8:11. kara goucher obviously did a great job as well. i was thinking last night about how many american records have been broken this summer, and here they are:

American Men's Mile Record: 3:46.91 Alan Webb
American Men's 2 Mile Record: 8:07.07 Matt Tegenkamp
American Women's 5000m Record Indoor/Outdoor: 14:44.80 Shalane Flanagan
American Women's Half Marathon Record: 1:06:57

Those are some pretty good records to knock down. Times are looking good for the US-of-A.

Shalane Flanagan got the indoor 3000m record and the outdoor 5000m record. I dont remember what the i3K record was, though.

Can someone please tell me how far this race was, I'm utterly confused, it's not a half marathon is it?

Yes, the race is indeed a half-marathon. Great run by Rohatinsky. That must be an encouraging sign towards his marathon fitness. That is a bit odd that Goucher ran both races, but good for him to attempt the double.

Yes, Mottram ran for money. Shame on him the lousy capitalist pig.
