Too many have written Teg off this year. He has had a very good 3k and 1500 meter runs this year. He is probably in at least 13:15 5k condition right now, which is good enough to probably get him in the finals at the World Championships. A sub 13 5k maybe in the cards for the future. At least he is in Europe competing.

How can you say he might be in 13:15 shape? His PR is 10 seconds faster, and he has already PR'd in both the 1500 and 3k this season. I would be inclined to think he is in atleast PR shape for the 5k as well.

7:35 is a whole lot better than 13:15 shape, he was in one slow 5k (mica kogo the fastest 10k runner in the world last year ran 13:15 and a field with 9 or 10 sub 13 minute men was won in over 13 minutes) and everyone got down on him. When Kennedy ran 12:58 he only had run 7:36. I think he is just coming right at the right time and that he picked the wrong place to run his one 5k before worlds.

Eaaassy, Trigger! Hack is just stating an opinion, and there is no reason to pop off with a bunch of question marks.

His PR in the 3k (outdoors) was last summer (7:34.9+) and has not PR'd this summer in anything over the 1500 (2 mile was in May) Looking better lately, but seemed to be in a slump in longer distances recently until today. Maybe his workouts have taken a toll on him and he is now adjusting. Hope he makes the final in Osaka, but anything more than that would be huge!!!!!

Teg, nice race!!! Broke the previous stadium record (which says alot for a meet like Stockholm) He competed nicely, ran a 4:02 last 1600 and a 59+ last lap. He still appears (along with his coach) to be searching for a way to take that next step; seems to be in a plateau, but I am still very impressed with his 1500's and his last couple of 3k's have been very respectable!!! Anyone know exactly what happened with Solinsky and Sully??? Very early in the race there appeared to be a fall way in the back, but I heard no mention of it from the announcers.

Great race for Teg (look at the top 12 and see that Teg is in the middle of 11 Africans and then Moran PR's for 13th.

I saw this on another website from Kevin Sullivan:

I think I am ok. Feels like I got kicked in the right calf, and may have a little discomfort on the outside of my left foot...but no track burn which is nice.

Not really sure what happened. Pace was solid...2:31 for me at the first km, then saw one of the young Kenyans bouncing around in the pack, and next thing I know, Solinsky is down and I get caught in the pile up. It's too bad some of the inexperienced Kenyans don't realize they just need to get in line and follow the pace. Position is not so important at that point in the race.

How things come around:
Solinsky jumped over about 3 guys (including Komon) in that Heusden 5k to run a spectacular 13:12 pr, and now gets taken down in a spill early in a 3k. He'll be back I have no doubt.

good run by Teg. I liked seeing him compete so well.

Matt was essentially second at the top of the last straight, it was hard to tell where he was overtaken because the only view I had was an unfocused (the focus was on Bekele) head-on view.

I was just browsing the results and a Richard Kiplagat of Kenya came second in 1:45. Is this the guy from Iona??? If thats the case, that would be one SICK run for a guy of his strength, but I won't go off on a tangent about his 1500 capabilities until I find out if its him or some other Kenyan I'm sure this more than one richard kiplagat.
Excellent work

I'm not so sure about Chris being OK. Normally he would jump back in after a spill. So I worry a bit, but I am pretty sure this was the last race that Solinsky had planned. I

Maybe in a college race or Us nationals...but in a race like this that was solely for time, there wasn't really any chance or benefit to get up i would think. If it was a 740 type race then maybe. But he probably knew he had not show and would do more damage them good if he kept going perhaps?

He certainly didnīt look injured. He walked around the track watching the rest of the race.

OK, it was June 10th, but the point was that he had been running a little "sub-par" this summer in everything above the 1500 distance. He did not particulat look good this summer in Europe (except in the 1500, which was a real nice PR). This 3k today was pretty impressive!!!!!!!

If nothing else, Teg seems to be gaining confidence here lately and hopefully will come home for a few weeks, re-energize mentally and physically and be ready to "lay it on the line" in qualifying and finals in the 5k in Osaka!!!
