Sounds like a great idea Mike. Mathis has always been a great meet. A Master's Mile is a good addition.

Just got word that we'll do entries on EZ Meets and should be live in fairly short order at http://www.ezmeets.com/

Have gotten another couple of declared entrants today, so field is certainly coming together...will keep you all posted.

RE: Rono, I did actually personally invite him so we shall see.

Thanks guys for your interest and responses (and that YMCA poster truly is my nephew from 3000 miles away...an up and coming collegiate trackster who can now easily outrun his aged uncle...dammit)

be well,

TY still has those bad boy wheels today and is just about to hit the next age group 45-49 where he will undoubtedly take down a record or two...he is fit..he is smart...he is patient and has a plan...the big man from the Pacific Northwest will be an international 45-49 factor in the very near future for sure.

I don't think Henry has $300 bucks to spend on a ticket to San Fran. Not sure he is ready for a fast mile yet, anyway.

If you check out the long running thread, you'll see that I had formally invited Henry and personally offered to pay airfare, hotel and meal money...the response was non-committal.

actually, regarding Rono: I think he IS still too heavy and not nearly ready to run a fast (even for his age group) mile yet.

What kind of times would you need to run to get in a race like this? I'm recovering from achilles surgery now so not asking for this meet but would like to run in some of these in the next few years. I'm in the 45-49 group for now and approaching the 50+ group.

Thanks

dmm13,

We don't actually have a qualifying standard this year although we might next...if we did, it'd probably be 5:10ish...while this will be most everyone's first mile/1500 effort of the year, the 50 year old guys (your soon to be age group) will include at least 4 guys who either recently have or shortly will run sub 5:00...good luck with the achilles and genuinely hope that you can join us next go around.

We have a couple of fast master women on our team. Any chance of a women's mile?
