2006 Poster of the Year 12/16/2006 10:47PM Reply | Return to Index | Report Post
Let the nominations begin.

My vote goes to Henry Rono. He has shared his highs and lows with the board, without any regard to what faster runners might think of training at 9:00 pace or slower. A guy who once held four WRs does not need to justify himself to anyone, yet Henry continues to respond to just about every yahoo on here, always in a positive way. Thank you, Henry, for what you have contributed this year.

I have to vote for Malmo, Tinman, Hodgie San, and JTupper for sharing their ideas with us despite all of the troll laden posts.

I second Henry Rono. By far the greatest of the year.

After that "me and my watch" yet for some reason those threads get deleted after 2-3 days.

However I can't help but regret as far as training advice, there was no thread this year like the Canova marathon thread a couple years ago. Probably this year the Clyde Hart 400 meter thread was the most useful instructional one.

I haven't gotten involved in these "Poster of the Year" threads in the past, but I agree that Henry has been a breath of fresh air. His posts are a joy to read.

i think some of his most previous posts show what type of poster he is. all though i disagree with sometimes for being a maximallist when it comes to shoes (hint his "brooks beast threads")

he seems very knowledgable and is always has strong belief is his thoughts and thinks he's a "physiology extrordinare"

heres a post i found with his "physiological" perspective.

i love how he always says "physiologically speaking"

I'll mention jtupper, Zuzu's petals, Kim Stevenson, Nobby and stig o'tracy. Those guys have made some of the most informative and interesting posts I've seen.

renato or 430 miler.[/quote]

NO. RENATO is MUCH more experienced in the field of physiology and has a much better perspective on training and racing than anyone else including mayoroff or jtupper ( who is indeed the real jack daniels himself)

anyways who cares about an award, i think everyones vote should go towards R.C. because he is so busy coaching his elite athletes, yet STILL has time to come on a message board and answer running questions for amatures, FOR FREE.

anybody who has read any of the jack daniels books should know that jtupper is THE REAL jack daniels himself.

in the book it says in the forward/epilogue "written by Jack Tupper Daniels.

I'd like to nominate "No Work Release", the poster who was going to jail soon and wanted to keep in shape so he turned to the board to know how many jumping jacks would be equal to one mile. That poor guy faced more anal sex jokes then anyone short of mayeroff and still kept at it, insisting that he wanted to keep in shape. Good work No Work Release!

A lot of good information dispensed this year, as usual, by such posters as Nobby, Kim Stevenson, Glenn McCarthy, HRE, Renato, Malmo, Tinman, Hodgie San, jtupper and Jim Spivey, but I think Henry Rono's contributions and willingness to answer anyone and everyone makes him poster of the year.
