...and I feel fine... King GH of t&fnews is throwing people off "his" board if they dare to mention, shhh, ... drugs... while he's enjoying the drug free van Damn meet... Funny, he calls it a "discussion" board...and note that he has a separate forum for "dope talk"... More cred for this crazy ass forum, Let's Talk...if this sport's fading away, its only because of the old folks spending their retirement living beside the River Denial... |

so what's wrong with that? if you have been to the drug board, there is some of the most intelligent and intense conversation about the topic. taking a break was probably not a bad idea, and also probably won't matter |

Hill can't talk enough about drugs in baseball, but since the Gatlin and Jones busts he's avoided his own forum like the plaque. He still refuses to talk about how dirty Track and Field really is. He's part of the problem. http://www.trackandfieldnews.com/discussion/search.php?mode=results&sid=fbdc96ce661851ab34127d573b671608 |

I liked the bit about "This forum will be closed on 8/25 so the REAL fans can enjoy the Van Damme meet." What, I'm not a "real" fan since I'm interested in the doping scandals? |
| um... say what? |

I fail to understand how closing the forum lets anyone enjoy the meet more than they otherwise would, or how leaving it open would prevent them from enjoying it. Are people being forced to read this thing? This is what happens when you put children in charge. |

Track is not enough of a marquee sport for GH to be as self-important as he is, not that this would be excusable in any case. He's be just as loopy if he were a hot-dog vendor or a Wal-Mart greeter (and therefore had a greater contribution to offer to society). |

anyone remember when BenJohnson tested positive in Seoul. It was the biggest news story of the Olympics and was headlines everywhere. now, it's no big deal. no real shame or "scarlet letter" for being a drug cheat. what i can't understand is why. is there really that much money in track and field? I mean how much does a LaTasha Jenkins make a year from the sport? is it over 100K???? Is the risk really worth the payday? Not sure what my point is, other than the sport is dirty and no one cares. |

I don't know many magazines that make it a point to trash the sport they are covering. Seems self-destructive doesn't it? he's probably doing the right thing to focus on the bright spot of the sport and try to keep the magazine alive at the same time, one of the few print pubs left of the sport in the public eye. Furthermore, it really isn't fair to call out TFN when runnersworld, runningtimes, and athletics weekly do far far less about the sport, and doping. |

I don't know what you're all so concerned about. TnF will cover the doping scandal in 6 months or so--that's about their regular turnaround for results. I'm expecting the 2005 NCAA cross nats report anyday now--d'ya think Wisconsin won? |
