last night at the annual beer mile in madison andy downin upset last years champion henry dennis. both beastly men ran a great race but it was downin who prevailed as he hunted dennis down in the final lap only to out sprint him in the home stretch. and bairu and solinsky couldnt manage to finish once again; way to go losers. |

Judging from the pics it looks like the runners take the beer mile pretty seriously - wearing new track spikes and such...I thought I read somewhere (MensRacing.com?) in an interview with Solinksy that after a few freshman benders he quit drinking? |

Back a couple of years ago another big ten school held a beer mile, the ad saw the results and suspended all involved for the rest of the semster including several all americans. |
