Yesterday, at 6:30pm, the 1st Annual Lakewood Fast Food Challenge was held in Lakewood, Colorado. An ode to the ol' "Dining Hall Classic" once held on the gorged campus of Cornell University, the event include a 2.8 mile park-to-park course with 5 required meals from fine eating establishments in the Lakewood area. Runners were required to complete and fully swallow each meal at all five stops; adherence to this rule was monitored by judges at each station. In addition to this runners were not permitted to puke at any eating establishment or food station. The five meals included the following:

1.) 1 sloppy joe + 1 can of Pepsi; Simply Sloppy Joe's
2.) 1 hot dog + 1 12oz. Slurpee; 7-Eleven
3.) 1 slice cheese pizza + 1 garlic knot + 1 can of Pepsi
4.) An order of 3 tacos; Chipotle
5.) 1 chili cheeseburger; Carl's Junior

9 willing competitors took to the line last night and we had a number of great volunteers to help judge. Despite fears that the aging status of the competitors would drag the event over a few hours, the race went out hard and never let up. This year's champion, Ofer Barniv, clocked a smoking fast time of 24 minutes and 24 seconds. Below is a full listing of the results.
