Hey everyone,
Since Hadd's thread reached rather unwieldy length (400 posts are a lot to wade thru), I thought it might be useful to post his main installments on my website...

I did ask him his permission before doing this of course. Hopefully this will allow for a little better access to the Hadd Fundamentals :)

Thanks Tara,

I have copied and pasted the document into Word for easier reading, but it is nice to have a site for reference.

Thanks a bunch from the great white north. 400 posts is pretty daunting let alone time consuming...the snow will be all melted before I finish that one. More time to run now!

Perhaps this is a dumb question (maybe everyone else knows him personally), but having read Hadd's several installments, enjoyed them, and bookmarked them on my browswer (thanks Tara), could I ask: what is his real name?

is it just me or where is the week 5 schedule, 6, and 8 above. Or is there a sort of pattern that I'm not catching on too? Coming on week 5 soon help.

Pete, I am willing to take that crazy risk.

Funny that you can tell that the "stool" thing needles me a little.

Hadd is an enigma. I'm not even sure he's a real guy, I think he's more like a coaching apparition...

If anyone has any ideas for things I could post that would be helpful, let me know. Like.... maybe I could post all of Pete's questions and Hadd's answers, so people could follow along with Pete's training all in one go (rather than spread out among 400 posts). That may not be helpful enough to warrant the trouble, I dunno.

That and I can't believe we've resorted to calling each other "stools"... have we no decency? Lets try to be civil ;)

I believe my personal Q&A exchanges with Hadd would be of limited interest to most people, ie only interesting those in my circumstance - a bit old, always run low volume high intensity looking to make a switch and harvest the last bits of toothpaste.

There were, though, some excellent Q&A exchanges with other folks. Many people asked complex questions, and by and large Hadd gave patient, detailed replies. Many of those would be of direct interest to a broader audience, as they offered real life examples to help to illustrate the "basic" theory he took pains to explain to us.

I have merged all of Hadd's core posts together for my own use, much as you did on your web site. I thought about trying to edit and merge the various Q&As into a separate appendix, but the task just seemed too daunting.

Maybe someone would volunteer to do so and send you the edited text to post at your site?

Anyone? Anyone?

I had thought the some of the information in the other Hadd thread (another link to a lestrun thread) about the VO2max work was very useful. I am thinking that I might take a crack at pulling some of that info together if someone else has not. Also, Tara, I have not read through your condensed version yet, but there was an analogy about the small rural towns and capalary (spelling) development that I thought was very good.
