LRC Asbel Kiprop Makes Statement with Convincing Win in Emsley Carr Mile

Kiprop waited until the final 100 to make his move but once he went there was no doubt who was best as he quickly accelerated away from the field and was looking back with 15 meters to go to win in 3:51.89. Ayanleh Souleiman was second while little-known Kenyan Vincent Kibet was a surprising third.

LRC Men's 600: David Rudisha Goes For World's Best, Settles For Dominant Victory at Birmingham Grand Prix

Rudisha and American Cas Loxsom went for it. Neither ended up with the result they wanted as Johnny Gray's WR lives another day but Rudisha ended up a dominant victor.

The Telegraph:

“I’d love to go back through my Twitter and pull out some of the tweets that have been sent to me even this year and give people an idea of what’s been written to me. Because at times it’s not nice to say the least. I think when you can go out there and win a few more major competitions it’s nice to rub it in slightly to those sorts of people, because they are not nice people. For me it’s become a bit of a campaign to shut them up a bit.”

“The long jump defines me as it currently stands,” Rutherford said. “I don’t expect it to define me for the rest of my life and building a family is hugely important. In 20 years’ time my career will be finished, done and forgotten but, all being well, my children will still be there.”

The Guardian:

The record is 43.18 and James has ran 43.74. The 21-year-old James says, “I think I have a 10-year window to think about that."

World Athletics:

Rutherford now holds the Olympic, Commonwealth and European title and hopes to win Worlds in Beijing 2015. Rudisha says his training is 100% and he thinks he has a 50/50 shot at winning the overall 800 DL title.

The Guardian:

He explains his approach for trying to break the 600m WR held by US's Johnny Gray at 1:12.81.

World Athletics:

Kirani James in the 499, Sally Pearson 100H and a competitive 200 with Nickel Ashmeade, Michael Rodgers, Kim Collins and Christophe Lemaitre.

BBC Sport:

Yes Farah had a rough marathon debut and then some health issues, but his track season has been a joke as he hasn't raced anyone.
