"As our business model continues to evolve, two key components are our broadcast strategy and event strategy," USATF CEO Max Siegel said in a statement. "In 2013, we will be bringing our events to the public in new ways while developing new broadcast properties outside of the realm of traditional track meets."
Broadcast coverage of the series begins with the New Balance Indoor Grand Prix, shown live February 2 on ESPN3, an on-line broadcasting service. A day later, the meet can be seen on tape-delay on ESPN2 on cable television.
Two weeks later on February 16, the Millrose Games will be aired live on ESPN3, with coverage of the meet also appearing on ESPN the following evening on cable.
The final leg of the USATF Championship Series --the USA Indoor Track & Field Championships-- will be broadcast from Albuquerque, N.M., on both Universal Sports and the NBC Sports Network, both cable outlets.
A summary of broadcast times can be found below.
"Having both live video and later a network telecast will be a great opportunity for track & field fans to experience the Millrose Games," said Millrose Games' executive director, Dr. Norbert Sander. "We are particularly pleased to be able to collaborate with USATF as part of their Indoor Series."
