The Trailer and the Oregon Track Club Elite Announce OTC Elite Week, from October 15-21

Press Release
October 11, 2012

Eugene, Ore. – The Trailer and the Oregon Track Club Elite (OTC Elite) are proud to announce OTC Elite Week, hosted by The Trailer (getinthetrailer.com) from October 15-21.

OTC Elite, America’s premier track and field club, is taking on a new batch of recruits for the 2012-13 season, and will be releasing their new athletes’ names exclusively through The Trailer.

“It is always exciting to have new athletes joining the OTC program. You take a pitch on new athletes and this group brings a lot of different talents in events ranging from 1,500 to the steeplechase and the 10,000,” says Mark Rowland, Head Coach of the OTC Elite. “The first and last reality is it takes hard work that is well directed to produce the results to maximize their individual potential as we look towards Rio in 2016.”

Each day will feature a new athlete on The Trailer, with accompanying profile and original photography. “In The Trailer, we’re massive fans of the promotion of the sport, and we believe that it begins with the promotion of the athletes,” says J.T. Service, Editor-in-Chief of The Trailer. “We’re flat-out pumped to help announce the next crop of OTC stars.”

The event’s purpose is to highlight the rise of top track and field athletes from the collegiate ranks to the pros with a professional announcement similar to other major sports.

The Trailer and OTC alike believe that running is a real sport (and come on, if you’re reading this, you do, too), so when the top club in the nation brings someone on board, it’s time to strike up the band.

With seven athletes confirmed, we hope you’ll join us in celebrating the next generation of professional runners to be shaped in Eugene.
