Day 1 Track and Field Stats From the 2012 Olympic Games

Crack statitistician Ken Nakamura has come up with the following stats from the morning session of Day 1 of the track and field action at the 2012 Olympics. It's clear that Reese Hoffa, Jessica Ennis and Javier Culson had fine starts.

Stats Day 1

SP 
21.36 by Reese Hoffa is the second longest SP in Olympic qualifying round (21.39 by Harji from 2000 is the longest)

Heptathon 
100mH

12.54 by Jessica Ennis is the fastest 100mH during Heptathlon. Previous best was 12.62 by Eunice Barber from 2005.
The previous fastest 100mH during Olympic Heptathlon was 12.69 by JJK from 1988

400mH 
qualifying 
48.33 by Javier Culson is the third fastest in qualifyig round of Olympics. 
48.21 by Samuel Matete from Atlanta is fastest, while the second fastest is 48.28 by Erick Kater from 1992
