Rieti Saturday: Rudisha 1:41.33!!!, Kiprop 3:30.46 PR Rudisha returned to the site of his 1:41.01 world record and he came close to matching it. Asbel Kiprop, two days after not being able to finish 3rd in Zürich to win the $40,000 Diamond League title, blasted a 3:30.46 to get a PR faster than Andrew Wheating. And WORLD CHAMPION Jenny Simpson raced for the first
time since Worlds. The result? 4:06.13 for 10th place. Lagat outkicked Vincent Chepkok, Thomas Longosiwa and last year's winner Tariku Bekele. the world's best distance runner Mo Farah in a great duel over the final 100m, as Farah apparently kicked too hard, too soon. Galen Rupp was 7th and the great Kenenisa Bekele dropped out, losing his first 10,000m ever.

Chicago: Evans Cheruiyot And Bernard Kipyego Join Bank Of America Chicago Marathon Field, Ryan Hall's Got A Chance Last year, with Sammy Wanjiru and Tsegaye Kebede squaring off, Chicago was maybe the greatest marathon finish we've ever seen. This year, it is much more wide open, and if Ryan Hall ever wants to win it, this might be his best chance.
The final additions to the field were announced yesterday and they include 2008 Champ Evans Cheruiyot, former World Half Marathon runner-up Bernard Kipyego, plus two 2:05 Ethiopians who have some question marks coming in, Bazu Worku (just dropped out of Worlds) and Getu Feleke (has run one race all year). Emmanuel Mutai And Martin Lel Rematch In NYC! Emmanuel Mutai and Martin Lel put on a marathoning clinic at this spring's Virgin London Marathon. Mutai ran 2:01 pace for the 4th 10k of the race, what we called "unofficially
