Coaches Polls

Heading into this weekend's crucial regional qualifying meets, the top two spots in the LetsRun.com NCAA Super Polls are just as they were in the preseason with the Stanford men and Villanova women #1.

Men: Stanford Still Getting Twice the Votes as Stanford

Stanford and Oklahoma State have been virtually tied in the coaches polls, for the last two polls, but this week Oklahoma State moved ahead to the #1 spot after its 1-2-3-4 finish at the Big 12 meet. The LetsRun.com faithful however all year long have backed Stanford by a nearly 2 to 1 margin over Oklahoma State. Stanford's 1-2-3 finish at the Pac 10 meet was enough to keep that margin as Stanford sits clearly atop the LetsRun.com polls with OSU 2nd. Oregon is way back in 3. Stanford and Oklahoma State have been dominant all year long and have pulled away from the rest of the country throughout the season. They now get 95.5% of the first place votes between them while at the start of the season they only got 69.4%.

Everyone expect a two-team battle at NCAAs for the title.

Women: Villanova Looking Good to Repeat

Gina Procaccio's Villanova squad has been a dominant #1 all year and remain that way. Oregon after getting upset by Stanford at the Pac10  meet fell to #3 behind Stanford who jumped 5 spots to #2.
