Today in Rovereto, Italy, drug cheat Justin Gatlin suffered his first loss since coming back from his four year drug suspension despite running his fastest time of the season 10.06.
Gatlin ran 10.06 with a slight tailwind at his back and finished only .03 behind Yohan Blake. Blake has run under 10 five times this year (9.89 best) and under 20 for 200m two times.
Blake apparently would have won by more but he had hamtsring (Reuters) or thigh problems (AFP) the last ten meters and clutched his leg as he crossed the finish. (Update we have a video of the race below).
Below we chronicle Gatlin's four races and adjust the times for the wind and altitude thanks to this calculator. This was still Gatlin's best performance but only by .01.

In other action at the meet, Caster Semenya mailed it in and ran a 2:07.16 for 9th in the 800m and told the AP afterwards, "Nothing happened. I ran the race, I ran slow. Nothing happened. It's part of the game." Elisa Cusma Piccione who called Semenya a "man" at last year's World Champs won the race in 2:00.37.
Ryan Hall's wife Sara ran the second steeple of her life and ran 10:00.20.
