Mo Farah Clocks 27:28.86 In Euro Cup 10,000

Mo Farah (GBR) won the European Cup 10,000m tonight in Marseille with a confident front running display, only 5 days after breaking his own British 10k Record on the street of London on Monday.  The 27 year old clocked 27:28.86 to move ahead of close friend Chris Thompson as the 3^rd fastest British runner of all time and the fastest European in 2010.  With help from Kenyan pacemaker Philemon Limo, Farah went through 5km a little behind schedule in 13:50 but already 70m clear of the chasing group.  He was alone passing 8km in 22:05 and continued to reel off laps of 66 seconds.  A penultimate lap of 63 followed by a final lap of 58 secs brought him home well inside the qualifying time for the European T&F Championships which will take place in Barcelona in July.
