Felix Kitur Almost Nips Robby Andrews at Liberty Twilight

Several days removed from his anchor leg defeat of Oregon Olympian Andrew Wheating on the Penn Relays 4x800 anchor, Virginia freshman Robby Andrews was back on the track looking to improve his seasonal 800m personal best. Racing around the shoulder of 2010 outdoor ACC champion and UVA teammate Lance Roller, Andrews sprinted for the line and a new personal best. Andrews nabbed a new lifetime 800m pr (1:47.73) and held off a charge from 1:46 runner Felix Kitur of Virginia Military Institute (earlier article read "Academy", apologies for the error). Kitur started his move after Andrews but could not quite close the gap, running only 0.05 behind. For NCAA indoor champion Andrews, the Liberty Twilight Qualifier performance marks the first sub-1:48 of his career. His previous outdoor best of 1:48.66 came from the NJ Meet of Champions in 2009.
