United States Track & Field has set their senior and junior teams for the 37th IAAF World Cross Country Championships to be held at the Bisharat Golf Course in Amman, Jordan, on March 28.  Athletes self-selected for these championships based on their order of finish at the USA Cross Country Championships held on February 7, in Derwood, Md.

The teams are as follows, with team member's towns of residency and finishing position at the USA Championships noted:

SR. MEN -
Bobby Curtis (Ardmore, Pa.), finished 3rd at USA Championships
Ed Moran (Williamsburg, Va.), 5th
Ryan Vail (Gresham, Ore.), 6th
Bret Gotcher (Flagstaff, Ariz.), 7th
Ed Torres (Boulder, Colo.), 8th
Max King (Bend, Ore.), 9th

SR. WOMEN -
Julie Culley (Arlington, Va.), finished 2nd at USA Championships
Kathy Newberry (Williamsburg, Va.), 3rd
Delilah DiCrescenzo (New York, N.Y.), 4th
Rebecca Donaghue (State College, Pa.), 5th
Samia Akbar (Herndon, Va.), 6th

JR. MEN -
German Fernandez (Stilwater, Okla.), finished 1st at USA Championships
Chris Derrick (Naperville, Ill.), 2nd
Luke Puskedra (Eugene, Ore.), 3rd
Ryan Hill (Hickory, N.C.), 4th
Patrick DuPont (Fairport, N.Y.), 5th
Francisco Medrano (Lafayette, Ind.), 6th

JR. WOMEN -
Neely Spence (Shippensburg, Pa.), finished 1st at USA Championships
Ashley Brasovan (Wellington, Fla.), 2nd
Alexandra Dunne (San Clemente, Calif.), 3rd
Allie McLaughlin (Colorado Springs, Colo.), 4th
Sara Vaughn (Tulsa, Okla.), 5th
Emily Pritt (North Canton, Ohio), 7th

German Fernandez, the Oklahoma State freshman who had a superb indoor season this year clocking a world junior best for the mile of 3:55.02 and a personal best 7:47.97 for 3000m, is widely seen as the best individual athlete on the team.  He finished 25th in the junior race last year in Edinburgh, Scotland.
