NOTE ON THE NEWS - RÖTHLIN OUT OF LONDON MARATHON WILL ILLNESS By: Race Results Weekly March 17, 2009
The Swiss newspaper LE MATIN reported today that IAAF World
Championships bronze medalist Viktor Röthlin has been forced to
withdraw from the Flora London Marathon because of illness. The Swiss
record holder with a 2:07:23 personal best is suffering from pulmonary
embolism and pnemonia and requires total rest for at least a month. He
returned last Saturday from his training camp in Kenya to seek
treatment in Switzerland.
