Reebok Grand Prix Trivia aka Nutrilite Ticket Giveaway

By LetsRun.com
Monday, May 26, 2009 - The 2009 Reebok Grand Prix is this Saturday in NYC. If you live in the East Coast and aren't going to NCAA regionals or maybe a state HS meet, you owe it to yourself to get to this meet.

If you are a distance fan, you'll be in heaven, as the women's 5k features a clash between double Olympic champ Tirunesh Dibaba and Kim Smith. The men's 5k has Bernard Lagat, 2008 Olympic 5k bronze medallist Edwin Soi, 2008 Olympic bronze medallist at 10k Micah Kogo, and reigning world XC champ Gebre-egziabher Gebremariam. Could we finally see the first sub-13 on American soil?

If you are a sprint fan, the meet always has you covered. Asafa Powell is in the men's 100, Allyson Felix and Sanya Richards will clash in the women's 400 and much more is on tap, including Jamaican 200-meter Olympic champ Veronica Campbell-Brown in the 100 and Jamaican Olympic 100-meter champ Shelly-Ann Fraser in the 200. Stop complaining that track isn't popular and buy a ticket to the meet.

While we'd like to see you purchase a ticket to the meet to support pro track in the USA, we know that the economy is down and some of you don't have a lot of disposable income (and let's face it, we also know that some of you are cheap). As a result, we are here to help you out.

To celebrate its 75th Anniversary, Nutrilite, a sponsor of the 2009 Reebok Grand Prix , is giving away seventy-five complimentary homestretch tickets. The company is making fifty of these tickets available to LetsRun.com visitors - the most knowledeable fans in the sport. Please realize this is a great give away as you can't purchase homestretch tickets anymore as they are sold out.

Starting today (Tuesday), and running through Friday, a trivia question will be listed on www.letsrun.com. If you are one of the first five people to email the correct answer to Andy_Gamm@amwayglobal.com, you will receive a pair of free tickets to the Reebok Grand Prix. We realize that that only gets us to 40 tikets because of Memorial Day. As a result, we will have to figure out a way to get rid of the final 10 tickets. TBD.

Limit of one set of free tickets per person. Ticket pick-up will be at Will Call beginning at 1pm on Saturday, May 30th. Photo ID will be required. Ok now onto the question.

Friday's Question. Which of these Sports Drinks contains an exclusive blend of antioxidants and no artificial flavors, colors or preservatives? Gatorade – Nutrilite - PowerAde

Old Questions:
Thursday's Question: We'll give out 10 pairs of tickets. What modes of transportation are available to get to Icahn Stadium on Saturday, May 30th?  Drive, Dedicated Ferry Service, Dedicated MTA X-80 Bus,  All of the above.

The answer was all of the above.
Wednesday's Question: Since the Reebok Grand Prix began in 2005, how many world records have been set at the meet? 0, 1, 2, 3
The correct answer was 2. Meseret Defar set the 5k world record by running 14:24.53 in 2006 and Usain Bolt ran 9.72 in the 100 last year.

Tuesday's Question (posted at 11:10 pm EST): How many national titles has Jenn Stuczysnki won since 2005? The correct answer is 7.
Indoors 2005, Outdoors 2006, Indoor & Outdoor 2007, Indoor & Outdoor 2008, and Indoors 2009. So that's 6 in a row dating to outdoors 2006.

The Reebok Grand Prix is in its fifth year and is the fourth stop on USA Track & Field’s Visa Championship Series. It features Olympic stars, top high school athletes and a Fastest Kid in New York competition. Tickets are on sale now by phone at 1-877-TIX-TRAC or on-line at www.ReebokGrandPrix.com. Additional updates, photos and information can be found by visiting the Reebok Grand Prix pages on Facebook and Twitter.
