2009 LetsRun.com NCAA Cross Country Rankings: Oklahoma State Men and Washington Women Head Into PreNCAAs #1 By: LetsRun.com
October 15, 2009
The first 2009 LetsRun.com NCAA Cross Country rankings are out and the German Fernandez led Oklahoma State Cowboys are the beneficiaries of the LetsRun.com faithful as they start the season at #1, despite being only #4 in the USTFCCCA coaches poll . The Stanford Cardinal are a strong #2, with Oregon just ahead of North Arizona at #3. Oregon may be loved by the LetsRun.com fans,
but only 1 person picked the Ducks, who nearly won the triple national crown last year, to win this year.
On the women's side Washington, who had the incredible perfect score at last year's Pac 10 meet on the way to the National Championship is the heavy, heavy favorite. Everyone else is competing for second. Mark Wetmore's Colorado squad led by NCAA stud Jenny Barringer gets a lot of support from the LetsRun.com fans as they are #7 in the LetsRun.com polls but only #19 in the coaches poll. Note: Due to a voting error
on our part, the Iowa State women who are #9 in the coaches polls could not be voted for. Our apologies.
We also break down all the action in the major conferences below.
