After last week's crucial Pre NCAA action and heading into this weekend's NCAA conference action, the LetsRun.com 2009 NCAA Cross Country Polls are out again and Jason Dunn's Stanford Cardinal men and Greg Matcalfe's Washington Husky women are #1.
On the men's side, Stanford's dominating 47 performance at the preNCAA Blue race was enough for them to overtake Oklahoma State in the men's rankings with the LetsRun.com faithful. Oregon stayed steady at #3 in the men's rankings, NAU stayed at #4 and Colorado parlayed its runner-up to Stanford to move up one spot to #5.
On the women's side, the Washington Huskies have been a dominant #1 all year in the LetsRun.com rankings and the coaches' polls. The big winner this week was Mark Wetmore's Colorado Buffs. Colorado moved up 5 spots in the LRC rankings this week to #2 after their stunning win at the preNCAA meet. (If you needed any proof the letsrun.com fan is smarter than the coaches how about this: Colorado was only ranked #19 in the country by the coaches prior to the pre NCAA meet.). Oregon dropped a spot to #3, Villanova dropped one spot to #4 and Florida State moved up into the top 5.
The next LetsRun.com polls will open up after this weekend's conference action and will also include the NCAA Regional rankings.
Below we have the LetsRun.com Natoinal and Conference Polls.
