Press Release A London based club called Herne Hill Harriers are hosting an international mile race on the 20 June at there home stadium in Tooting London. The opponents are a group of 20 Kenyan athletes who have never competed abroad or had a chance to race Europeans. They will not however be leaving Kenya, rather they will race at the same time as the athletes in London at Chepcoilel university campus in Eldoret Kenya. Prize money and Podium medals will be combined as if the two races where one race. So as the Kenyan athletes toe the line on the 20th June so too will there UK counterparts, therefore ensuring a tough challenge on to secure the £50 bonus for breaking 4:05 for the men and 4:35 for the women. As well as time bonuses the top three positions fight it out for £60, £40 and £20 respectively. Prizes have been kindly donated by www.realrunners.co.uk a London based health and fitness company. This venture is in aid of a charity called Run2Live which aims to provide impoverished young kenyan men and women with both education to secondary school level and a means by which they can both support their rural dwelling families and start to tackle rural development projects.
