*Race Recap from IAAF
The marquee matchup was 2008 Olympic Champ Pamela Jelimo versus 2007 World Champ Janeth Jepkosgei in the women's 800. Jelimo has lacked her fine 2008 form so far this year, but she made a bold move in the race only to start fading down the stretch and to be just nipped at the line by Jepkosgei. (highlights below)
Men's 1500m Olympic Champ Asbel Kiprop continued his fine 2009 celebrating once again at the top of the straightaway (you can watch it 1:54 into the video below) just like he did at the Pre meet. Kiprop is super confident in 2009 and he is the man to beat at Worlds.
Olympic champ Nancy Lagat was beaten in the women's 1500 and Men's 800m Olympic Champ Wilfred Bungei did not run with an injury hoping to get a wild card to the Worlds but he was not selected.
