HS Discus Record-Holder Mason Finley named Athlete of the Week

INDIANAPOLIS- Mason Finley has been named USA Track & Field's Athlete of the Week after setting the national high school record in the discus Saturday at the High Altitude Challenge in Alamosa, Colo.
 
A Buena Vista High School senior, Finley won the men's discus with a record-toss of 72.08 meters/236 feet 6 inches. The previous record of 71.42m/234-4 was set by Niklas Arrheniusor of Orem, Utah in 2001.

Nowin its eighth year, USATF's Athlete of the Week program is designed to recognize outstanding performers at all levels of the sport. USATF names a new honoree each week and features the athlete on the USATF website. Selections are based on top performances and results from the previous week.
