Recap of 2008 Millrose Games High School Miles Millrose is packed full of high school races. That is for a variety of reasons. #1) Fans. High school kids running at Madison Square Garden means a lot of relatives and friends coming to watch and buying tickets. #2) The high school races are now some of the most exciting races. High school runners often don't have the best of tactics, a ton of youthful exuberance, and that makes for great racing. The loudest the crowd has been the last two years has been for the High School Boy's Mile. Recaps of the two high school miles below. Girls Mile: Jillian Smith Wins for 2nd Week in a Row Smith made her move a little over 4 minutes into the race with 2 laps to go. She blasted into the lead and just like that the race was over. She extended her lead to the finish winning comfortably in 4:50.87, as McGee over took Reese for 2nd (4:55.52 and 4:56.21 for 2nd and 3rd).
