Kip Keino Mile Pre Race Expo and Dinner The star studded fields arrived in Ithaca for the Kip Keino mile. The highlights on Saturday were the athlete dinner and pre-race press conference (photo gallery of both here). But if you want to learn something about life and running from a legend watch Kip's comments below from the pre-race press conference at the Borg Warner Fitness Expo. Kip entertained the athletes with his stories and humanitarian vision. Plus, the athletes had their most pressing questions about Kip's heroics answered by Kip (for the record Kip did not drink a Coke 1 hour before his 1968 Olympic gold (Nick Willis had heard this) or eat a batch of chocolate chip cookies the night before (Martin Fagan had heard this)). As for the incredible men's race, 3:55 milers Anthony Famiglietti (who recently ran 13:11 the fastest 5k ever by an American on American soil) and Boaz Cheboiywo indicated they may try and work together to push the pace to try and limit the kick of Commonwealth Games gold medallist Nick Willis. Plans are for a rabbit to take the field through 800 in 1:56 depending on the wind. Watch Kip talk about the importance of physical fitness and sport, helping those less fortunate in society, god, teammates, the unity of sport, training and mental preparation. Press conference words of wisdom from Kip (12 minutes):
